Betty and the Werewolves emerged in the late 2000s, wielding a sweet, fiery, gritty indie pop sound that nodded to indie pop outfits like Talulah Gosh, Lung Leg, and Dolly Mixture.
The band formed in 2008, comprised of Laura Wolf (Laura McMahon), Emily Wolf (Emily Bennett), Helen Wolf (Helen Short), and Sir Dancelot Douglas Wolf (Doug McFarlane), and built a strong following among indie pop aficionados on the strength of their live show, a thrilling debut single, and an appearance on the soundtrack of an independent film (Giles Borg's 1234). That debut 7" single, Euston Station, was released on Damaged Goods in the summer of 2008. Another single, David Cassidy, was released in February 2009 and featured on Rough Trade Shop's Indiepop '09 collection. The band released their debut album Tea Time Favourites in July of 2010, right after making an appearance at Indietracks 2010. ~ Margaret Reges
