Founded in San Diego by vocalist Veronica Freeman and guitarist Pete Wells, heavy metal quartet Benedictum released their first album, Uncreation, in 2006.
The two founders, having previously worked together in the band Malady, roped in Blackie Sanchez and Chris Morgan to round out their early lineup and record the demo that would lead to a deal with Locomotive Records, which would finally lead to their aforementioned debut. The release was followed by touring in North America and Europe, as well as a number of roster changes. Those changes, which resulted in a lineup featuring Freeman and Wells with keyboardist Chris Morgan, Jesse Wright taking on bass, and Paul Courtois on drums, led to more recordings in 2007. The band unveiled its second album, Seasons of Tragedy, in 2008. ~ Chris True
