Recorded live at Electric Lady Studios

Thom Yorke has shared a new video of his acoustic solo take on the Radiohead track ‘Bloom’ – check out the performance video below.

The song is the opening track on Radiohead’s ‘The King of Limbs’, which came out back in February 2011.

Yorke shared the new live video yesterday (January 16). Directed by Marisa Gesualdi and recorded at the world-famous Electric Lady Studios in New York City on November 19, you can see the clip below.

This version of ‘Bloom’ is the latest track to be included in his new YouTube playlist, ‘Live from Electric Lady Studios’. The four-song playlist also includes renditions of ‘Suspirium’, ‘Unmade’ and ‘Open Again’ – all of which featured on Yorke’s 2018 Suspiria soundtrack.

That soundtrack will receive a limited release on vinyl next month, and is set to include previously-unreleased material.

Away from Suspiria, Yorke revealed back in October that he’s writing a “politically-charged” album that’s set for release in 2019.

Asked to describe the sound of the record, Yorke said: “It’s very electronic, but different to anything I’ve done till now. The method has been the opposite of depending on computers. It’s a weird process by which we made a song in the studio, we break it after that, we rebuild it with a live mix and it comes out different again, and that’s what we record.”
