Last month, Deftones told fans to expect new music in 2019. Their last album, ‘Gore’, came out back in 2016.
There was also speculation a few weeks ago that Deftones frontman Chino Moreno is preparing to reform his ††† (Crosses) side project after a post on the group’s Facebook signaled a return to action.
Crosses, usually stylised as †††, were formed in 2011 by Moreno, Shaun Lopez and Chuck Doom, and released a self-titled solo album in 2014. They were reported to be working on a follow-up, but have been inactive since 2016.
