Only one film — we’re fairly sure —

can claim to feature a kidney-stealing plot, a Mexican wrestler named El Monstruo, and a guy with a giant swastika tattooed on his face. The name of that movie? Lowlife, which IFC Midnight is releasing in select theaters and via digital platforms on April 6.

Directed by first-time filmmaker Ryan Prows, and set in the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles, Lowlife charts how fate —and a ruthless crime boss — connects three down-and-out reprobates mixed up in an organ harvesting scheme that goes from bad to worse to off-the-rails insane.

Lowlife stars Nicki Micheaux (TNT’s Animal Kingdom), Mark Burnham, Jon Oswald, Ricardo Adam Zarate, Shaye Ogbonna, Santana Dempsey, Jose Rosete, King Orba, and Clayton Cardenas
