The first trailer for Skyscraper has been released, and it sees Dwayne Johnson fighting for his life in a dramatic actioner that looks somewhere in between Die Hard and The Towering Inferno.

In the trailer, Johnson is seen as Will Ford, a former FBI agent who is now tasked with assessing the security of skyscrapers after undergoing a leg amputation.

But things go dramatically wrong when he’s given the job of assessing Chinese skyscraper ‘The Pearl’ – forcing him to mount a desperate rescue mission in order to save his family who have taken up residence within the building.

Johnson is seen battling for survival as fends off gunfire and huge blazes before the trailer comes to a head with a dramatic sequence that sees him making a daring leap of faith from the top of a crane.

Along with Johnson, Skyscraper also features Scream actress Neve Campbell as his peril-stricken wife.

Behind the camera is Rawson Marshall Thurber, who previously helmed Central Intelligence, Dodgeball and We’re The Millers.

Skyscraper is set for general release on July 13.
