The Foo Fighters frontman brought his Backbeat BBQ to a group of fire personnel who are currently combatting the Woolsey Fire in LA

Dave Grohl has treated Californian firefighters to BBQ to thank them for their tireless efforts in tackling the devastating wildfires which have ravaged the state.

The West Coast state has been devastated by the fires over the past week, with the Camp Fire in the north claiming 42 lives in the region so far. The Woolsey Fire in the south has affected parts of Los Angeles, killing two people and devastating scores of properties in such locations as Malibu.

Firefighters continue to tackle the blaze across the state, with people now stepping in to aid and assist the fire personnel as they work long hours – with Grohl playing his part by cooking BBQ for firefighters in Calabasas, Los Angeles County. Fire Station 88 were one of the recipients of the free BBQ last night (November 12), which was provided by Grohl’s recently launched Backbeat BBQ.

“It was awesome to get a visit tonight from Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters,” the station wrote on Instagram. “Thanks Dave! [The BBQ] was excellent!” See the post below.

Elsewhere, President Donald Trump’s response to the California wildfires has been criticized by a host of big-name artists, with the likes of Katy Perry, Rod Stewart and Neil Young (who lost his home to the fires) slamming Trump’s decision to blame the fires on “forest mismanagement”.

“This is an absolutely heartless response,” Perry wrote in response to Trump on Twitter. “There aren’t even politics involved. Just good American families losing their homes as you tweet, evacuating into shelters.”
