Who is hosting the Emmys?

CBS is calling on Colbert, their own late-night host, to emcee the proceedings. Though he previously hosted the 39th Annual Kennedy Center Honors on CBS, this is the first major awards hosting gig for the comedian and host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The Emmys rotate networks each year, and it’s common for them to tap their own talent for hosting duties – last year ABC called on their own late-night host Jimmy Kimmel (who then also hosted the 2016 Oscars).

Who is presenting?

The Television Academy has tapped some of the small screen’s biggest and brightest to present the awards at the Emmys. Presenters include nominees Riz Ahmed, Anthony Anderson, Alec Baldwin, Allison Janney, Nicole Kidman, Tracee Ellis Ross, Oprah Winfrey, and Reese Witherspoon. Stars of upcoming new fall shows will also take the stage, including Edie Falco (Law and Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders) and Lea Michele (The Mayor), as well as Debra Messing in advance of the highly anticipated Will and Grace revival. Other presenters include Jason Bateman, Jessica Biel, Anna Faris, Rashida Jones, Shemar Moore, Kumail Nanjiani, Jim Parsons, and Adam Scott. More presenters will be announced in the days leading up to the ceremony.

Who are the 2017 Emmy nominees?

The most memorable shows from another stellar year of Peak TV, naturally! Both HBO’s Westworld and NBC’s Saturday Night Live tied for the most nominations with 22. Saturday Night Live capped one of its best seasons ever with a record 22 nominations, including four Best Supporting Acting noms. The nominees include mainstays like House of Cards, Veep, and Modern Family, while also welcoming newcomers like The Handmaid’s Tale (13 noms), This is Us (10 noms), Big Little Lies and Atlanta. Nominees ranged from first-timers like Millie Bobbie Brown and Donald Glover to seasoned multi-time nominees such as Bob Odenkirk and Jessica Lange.
