Stephen King fans just got a glimpse of “Blue Heaven.”

In The Dark Tower, that’s Algul Siento, the postcard-perfect little town where psychic slaves of the Man in Black work tirelessly to help him attack the mystical structure that binds all space and time.

In the opening shot of the latest trailer, we see this little oasis of normalcy atop a mesa in the otherwise blighted landscape. The apocalypse has come and gone from many worlds, and the one we inhabit is next on the list. Each collapse weakens The Dark Tower, which weakens the barriers between realities.

Idris Elba’s Roland, the last of the gunslingers, is trying to protect it — as his forebears have for generations. He’s also out to get revenge on Matthew McConaughey’s Man in Black, a sorcerer who killed his world and everyone Roland loved who dwelled within it.

Since the Tower is otherworldly, only a mystical kind of power can help break it, and that’s where the psychics come in — whether they want to or not. The Man in Black captures them and harnesses their power, draining them, and blasting their energy from his experimental workshop at Devar-Toi, which is the domed structure in the little town of “Blue Heaven.”

The Man in Black tracks Roland via orbs that betray the gunslinger’s location, putting them face to face, at least in a spiritual sense. Otherwise, the gunslinger is always just behind the Man in Black, pursuing him relentlessly.

Check back later today for EW’s deep dive into The Dark Tower‘s new trailer, where we’ll parse this mythology in a little more detail.
