Ebony Banks passed away over the weekend.

A fan who recently FaceTimed Beyoncé has died.

Ebony Banks, who had been fighting a rare form of stage IV cancer, died yesterday (March 26), just four days after she spoke to the singer.

The teenager spoke to the Beyoncé after her family and classmates started a social media campaign on her behalf.

The shared hashtag #ebobmeetsbeyonce received thousands of heartfelt retweets, which got through to the pop icon.

Beyoncé then surprised Banks with a FaceTime video call while in the hospital.

Family and friends of Banks held a candlelight vigil on Sunday to pay tribute to the late teen, by playing Beyoncé songs throughout the night, reports Click2Houston.

Meanwhile, the singer recently surprised a group of dancers during a surprise visit to their theatre in LA.

The ‘Lemonade’ artist visited the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre earlier this month to watch a performance by the theatre’s dance company. While there, the 35-year-old star met a group of young dancers – dubbed ‘Tina’s Angels’ after the mentorship programme they are affiliated to, which is run by Beyoncé’s mother Tina Lawson – backstage.

After Beyoncé had to pull out of headlining this year’s Coachella following doctor’s advice regarding her pregnancy, Lady Gaga was announced as her replacement. She joins Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead as the headliners of this year’s festival, which will be held in its usual Californian location at the Empire Polo Club in Indio on the weekends of April 14-16 and April 21-23 2017.

Announcing her pregnancy back in February with a much-shared Instagram post, Beyoncé wrote: “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.”
