When Being a Celebrity Stops Being Fun

Hump Days are already dreary, but Kendall Jenner’s was made significantly worse after discovering she had been robbed. The socialite-turned-high-fashion-model left her Hollywood Hills home late last Wednesday while a party was still raging and disappeared for about an hour, only to return home and find that the contents of a jewelry box in her room had been swiped. Because of the location she kept the expensive pieces in, police have concluded that the robbery was probably an inside job, orchestrated by a close friend or associate. In the wake of the $200,000 theft, Jenner followed in older sister Kim Kardashian’s footsteps and fired her security guard. Though she might not get her Cartier and Rolex watches back, the security footage from the night’s heist will hopefully aid police in catching the culprit.

Actress Jaime Pressly was equally unlucky, returning to her Sherman Oaks home on Saturday night to find that she too was missing over $100,000 worth of jewels. When she entered her house, Pressly knew something was wrong and notified the authorities. Police noted that a side window had been forced open and the unknown assailant fled the residence with not only designer trinkets, but also Pressly’s laptop. It’s unclear whether the movie star had surveillance in place or if police have any potential leads.
