Brass Eye creator Chris Morris has reportedly directed a new movie in the Caribbean, starring Anna Kendrick.

The cult comedy writer last ventured into film with 2010’s Four Lions, and has maintained a relatively low profile ever since – directing several Veep episodes and making an appearance on Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle in 2014.

Now, Chortle reports that Morris spent the summer filming a new movie in the Caribbean and America, although details are pretty thin on the ground at the moment.

It’s claimed that Pitch Perfect actress Anna Kendrick will head up a cast that also includes the likes of Fonejacker star Kayvan Novak (who previously worked with Morris on Four Lions), True Blood’s Denis O’Hare and Orange Is The New Black’s Danielle Brooks.

Plot details are yet to materialise, but it seems that Morris could be opting for an action-comedy after Kendrick posted a set photo on Instagram which saw her wielding a semi-automatic rifle while decked out in a bulletproof vest. She also posted a video that saw her donning an FBI cap.

Bones star Pej Vahdat also stars in the film and previously described the film as “by far one of the best experiences of my life”.
“This film is going to be absolutely epic and I can’t wait for you all to see it”, he teased on Instagram.

Simon Blackwell, who previously co-wrote Four Lions with Morris, also teased to the Hollywood Reporter: “I’m aware of what [Morris is] cooking, but I can’t show you the menu I’m afraid.

“He has an elite troop of killers who will come and get you. He’s doing something marvelous, as you would expect.”

The film will be co-produced by See-Saw Films and Archer Grey Productions and financed by Film 4, which previously backed Four Lions.
