As with so many artistic industries, many of the most sought-after and beloved tattoo shops and artists are located in either New York City or Southern California. But while those might be the biggest markets for great tattoos, there are plenty of shops elsewhere that deserve love and attention too (like the iconic ones we told you about last summer).
Outside of those two major cities, Florida maintains the kind of statewide established tattoo scene that many areas aspire to grow into one day. Additionally, let's not forget that although LA Ink and Ink Master would prove to be the biggest tattooing TV shows, that whole reality television movement spawned from the most southeastern corner of the country with Miami Ink. With that said, it's time to show those Floridians some respect, so here are 10 tattoo shops that are worth checking out in Florida.
Sacred Rites Tattoo
Not every great tattoo shop is in a major city, and Sacred Rites is proof of that. With locations in both Port Charlotte and Bradenton, Sacred Rites is the kind of solid street shop that can do a good job on just about any style of tattoo. They may not have any artists that receive the national recognition of some Orlando or Miami-based shops, but Florida's a big state with a lot of tattoo shops, and Sacred Rites is consistently better than many of them.
