We’re celebrating the voice and personality of a star we lost too early.

When the words fail to describe the unspeakable act of malice and the mind can’t process the inanity of the tragedy, we have only music to turn to and remember the talent that was taken from us way too soon. Christina Grimmie was shot to death after a performance in Orlando early Saturday morning (June 11), but her passionate songwriting and performances will live on. The 22-year-old singer's passion for performing and writing music was burning bright and inspired millions on people—first on YouTube, then on The Voice and finally with her releases. Today we want to revisit some of her finest moments and honor her undeniable gift of entertaining and always putting a smile on our face. Bubbly, upbeat and a total show stopper—that’s the way we will remember Christina Grimmie.

“Party in the USA” Cover (2009)

UGH!! i cant stand the high notes in this video,” Christina wrote in the description for her rendition of Miley Cyrus’ patriotic pop anthem and added, “Please PLEASE bare with me in this video :( and if anyone has advice on how to stop my voice from cracking and if you think im singing 'wrong', PLEASE let me know!!” Neither us nor the other 12 million viewers seemed to care about Christina’s struggles with any notes, as this cover pretty much made her one of YouTube sensations back in 2009 and left the subscribers of her zeldaxlove64 account begging for more. And boy did she deliver more goods!

“Feelin’ Good” (2013)

As if the lyrics of this feel-good tune weren’t uplifting enough, Christina made sure to thank her fans by featuring clips of them in the video for one of the standout tracks from her 2013’s debut record With Love.

“The Voice” Audition (2014)

Christina’s appreciation of Miley Cyrus helped her impress the tough panel of The Voice judges when in 2014 she made everyone fall in love with her popstar-tastic performance of “Wrecking Ball.” Usher gave her a standing ovation during the performance, but Christina opted for Adam Levine’s mentorship.

Duet With Adam Levine (2014)

Christina’s run on The Voice gave us a lot of remarkable performances thanks to her vocal abilities and undeniable stage presence. But it was her duet with coach Adam Levine that we keep replaying even two years later: Gotye’s megahit “Somebody That I Used To Know” was a perfect choice for these two.

“Can’t Help Falling In Love”(2014)

Christina’s final performance on The Voice was as big as it gets with her diva-esque take on Elvis Presley’s classic ballad “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” Christina may have finished third in The Voice race but the exposure she got on the show was enough for her to secure a new record deal and win the iHeart Radio / Macy’s Rising Star competition in 2015.

“Must Be Love” (2014)

“Must Be Love” was meant to be the lead single off Christina’s first post-The Voice album, but the record was scrapped after the singer parted ways with her label Island Records. At least we got this fun song, which showcased Christina's trademark easy-going personality and impressive vocal range.

“Hello” Cover (2015)

Despite touring with the likes of Selena Gomez and Rachel Platten and releasing new music, Christina never abandoned her roots and kept putting out cover videos on YouTube. Back in December she covered Adele’s bombastic ballad. Apparently high notes weren’t a problem anymore as the cover turned out to be pretty spotless.

“Love Song to the Earth” (2015)

Christina left behind a lot of songs about love and enjoying life, which is probably the best legacy any artist can have. Back in 2015 she was a part of the special release of “Love Song to the Earth” alongside Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow and many other great performers. The song was recorded as a way to remind people across the globe that we should pay attention to the climate change. But today we want to listen to this beautiful song with a different state of mind. No hateful act of violence can take away the fact that our planet runs on love. That was the message behind a lot of Christina's songs and something that's especially important to keep in mind today.

RIP Christina Grimmie, and thank you for all that you did for music.
