Let's put the "tattoo" back in "tattoo model."

Sooner rather than later, the trend of being heavily tattooed is likely going to wane. There've been ebbs and flows in tattooing's popularity over the course of its relatively modern history, but this is arguably the highest peak tattooing has ever seen. Unlike a trendy clothing style or haircut, the trendsetting masses aren't going to be able to bust out scissors or a new wardrobe to pretend like they never got that underboob mandala or terribly drawn stick and poke wrist tattoo.

I would never wish for tattoos to become uncool, I simply think people should be getting inked because they like tattoos and their artist's work rather than because they're "sexy" and they'll get a few more likes on social media. Eventually, tattoo models will be on the cover of AARP the Magazine rather than Maxim and Inked, and while there's nothing wrong with tattooed grandmas, those bikini shots are going to make for an interesting conversation with the grandkids.

Even a decade ago, it wasn't easy to find nude tattooed models on the internet (it was pretty much just the niche that Suicide Girls built their name on). These days, you can't get away from them. That's largely in thanks to you, Instagram.

All I'm saying is let's make tattoos cool for being tattoos again rather than just being a sex symbol.
