Former Atari Teenage Riot singer teams up with producer Electrosexual on this dark techno track.

For her new single, "Hold Me," singer Hanin Elias has teamed up with Berlin-based producer Electrosexual for a dark techno track. As the former frontwoman of Atari Teenage Riot, Elias has been applying her talents to a variety of music projects including the duo Fantôme and her solo endeavor.

Her collaboration with Electrosexual began after he remixed a Fantôme song in 2014, and the two have been guesting on each other's tracks ever since. As for the inspiration behind "Hold Me," Elias points to current events as well as human instinct. "In times like this you often feel lost. An aggressive, fearful vibe is all around us — on the news and in the street. We are held hostage by something threatening. I wanted to mix the longing for love and security with the threatening surrounding in sound and lyrics."

While the track provides a taste of the underground, the new music video offers a glimpse at a haunting, overland dreamscape. The grayscale video is the vision of director Dukagjin Idrizi, whom Elias met on the set of a movie. Filmed in Iceland, the unsettling video stars actor Tomas Lemarquis, who recently appeared in X-Men: Apocalypse. Idrizi offered his services after taking a liking to the song and that good fortune doesn't escape Elias. "I'm so happy that life gives me the opportunity to meet all these great people and collaborate with them!"

Jaimie Rain Oh man I love this. I've been a fan of Hanin for about 17 years, and enjoy her solo work more than ATR sometimes. This is a major departure from both, much more trancey/industrial/electro than her older electroclash/experimental stuff
