Umberto Palazzo built cribs since 1988, but this passion has distant origins, since childhood, every Christmas he helped his grandfather in the representation of the Nativity and the rest of the year, it was entranced of beautiful 18th century Neapolitan Nativity scenes stored at the Museo San Martino of Naples.
Many years later, he moved to Bergamo, became a member of the Crib's Friend Italian Association, and in particular of the Section Ponte San Pietro (BG), in this way he learns new techniques of construction and, thanks to them, he realized various works that have a flattering success in various Exhibitions and Museums. Umberto in designing its cribs is inspired by the reality that surrounds him, changing it then according to the movements of his soul: he combines a precise study of perspective, the different architectural styles and colors, the own capacity of the artist, to give new meanings of real things. Since 2000, Umberto designs and produces his cribs with the collaboration of Rossella Lolli known thanks their common passion, a cribs's maker from Terni.
