Born Lian Jingru on June 16, 1978, Fish Leong (her stage name) was a Malaysian born and Asian based Chinese and Malaysian pop ballad singer who was hugely popular in her home region, selling millions of records and winning countless awards.
Leong got her start as a covers singer, eventually scoring a deal with Rock Records of Taiwan. Her debut album, Yi Ye Zhang Da, was released in 1999. Over the next ten years, Leong released ten more albums, scoring sales records and awards from a bevy of Asian awards ceremonies. She has collaborated with such celebrated Chinese pop stars as Lee Hom Wang and Ashin. In 2007, she released the album J'adore to the usual great reception. ~ Chris True
